Kayla Breen is an award-winning journalist and visual storyteller specializing in human interest and documentary storytelling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in magazine and newspaper journalism from SUNY Plattsburgh and a master’s in visual communication from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. Her work as a staff photographer and photo editor for multiple publications has focused on community-driven stories, breaking news and in-depth features.

Kayla brings a diverse range to her photojournalism, with experience covering concerts, sports and long-form visual projects. In addition to photography, she is an accomplished writer and documentary filmmaker, having received multiple awards for excellence in multimedia storytelling and written reporting. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer in photojournalism.

Currently, she is a Production Assistant at Salt Town Productions and an Associate Producer on the feature documentary INHERITANCE, contributing to marketing, communications and the film’s Impact Campaign.
